Sia Academy For Ancient Egyptian Studies offers courses, books, software for the ancient Egyptian language ( Medut-Netru - hieroglyphs), CDs, DVDs and video tapes relating to the ancient Egyptian body of knowledge. Egyptology is usually treated as the study of a ‘dead’ civilisation, suited only to an ancient race. In contrast, Sia Academy teaches that the knowledge and traditions of the most advanced and enlightened civilisation in human history are equally applicable to society today. The teachings of ancient Egypt were built upon natural laws and principles, rather than on the life of a particular individual and so they form a tradition which makes us better than we have ever been but which does not require us to give up anything previously gained. It is, therefore, as invaluable for our well-being today as it was for the Egyptians for many thousands of years and it is unique in its totally holistic approach to body, mind and spirit. Sia Academy seeks to continue the life-long work and dedication of its founder, Dr. Ramses Seleem, a distinguished author and teacher of Egyptology, who appeared on many television and radio programmes internationally to discuss the ancient Egyptian way of life. Dr. Seleem, sadly, passed away in July, 2020. As he said, "The ancient Egyptians considered the human body to be the ultimate textbook for the universe and the true living temple or the House of Life, Per-Anx and, therefore, they believed that “it is impossible for us to learn elsewhere what we are incapable of learning within our bodies”. Today, we have developed the outer sciences at the expense of the inner ones and so, while many of us know everything about our car, we know nothing about our liver or the lipoprotein in the bloodstream. How many bones do we have? How many muscles, vertebrae and joints? How many sutures are there in the skull and what is the significance of these numbers? In discovering the answers to these questions, we begin to understand the human form as an entity and as part of the universe around us. Then we can consider other questions: where do we come from? What is the purpose of living? What happens after death? What are good and evil? How many seeds have we planted in this life for eternity? All these questions can be answered precisely and practically through the teachings of ancient Egypt." |
